Fox News told viewers Trump was ‘working all weekend.’ Twitter’s response is hilarious.

Fox News got caught blatantly lying about President Trump’s whereabouts this past weekend, and Twitter is mercilessly ridiculing the network.

On Sunday evening, Fox News bizarrely tweeted that Trump was working all weekend at the White House. The timing of the tweet seemed defensive rather than informative, as the weekend was almost over at the time the tweet was sent.

Of course, prior to that tweet, GolfWeek ran an article about Trump spending the weekend golfing at one of his Trump-branded courses in Virginia, marking the 12th time the president visited one of his own golf courses during his two total months in office. Trump’s team apparently lied to the media when telling reporters about the president’s whereabouts, with photos on Instagram confirming that Trump was, in fact, watching the Golf Channel in his Virginia golf club with two other people rather than heading back to the White House, as alleged by his team

Given the obvious discrepancies in Fox News was reporting and what was actually happening, Twitter took its time blasting the traditionally conservative-leaning network for covering for the absent president. Twitter users also dug up video of the billionaire game show host on the campaign trail, promising to spend nearly all of his time working in the White House rather than golfing at his properties.

As of this writing, the tweet remains up on the verified Fox News account, which has nearly 14 million followers. The network has not yet apologized for misleading its viewers.
