White House Staffers Are in Full Meltdown (Details)

Following allegations that President Trump leaked codeword-classified intelligence to Russia, the White House staff went into utter meltdown.

The Daily Beast reported that staff were hiding in their offices Monday evening as press stormed the White House after the Post story broke.

“Do not ask me about how this looks, we all know how this looks,” a senior White House official told the Beast.

In addition to hiding from press, senior staff cranked the volume on televisions to drown out the sound of screaming at one another, reported BuzzFeed’s Adrian Carrasquillo. When able to question an administration official about the Post story, Carrasquillo was told the official was “dealing with other dumpster fires.”

Outside Press Secretary Sean Spicer’s office, National Security Adviser H.R. McMaster saw the crowd of reporters gathered and commented “This is the last place in the world I want to be,” before denying a claim not actually asserted in the Post article.

“At this point I’m wondering if we’ll ever be able to stop talking about Russia. It’s totally self-inflicted. Every time I feel like we’re getting a handle on the last Russia fiasco, a new one pops,” commented another staffer.

“It never stops,” a White House official told Politico. “Basically chaos at all times.”

Politico also reported on advisers and others close to Trump saying they wouldn’t be surprised if the President revealed classified information while “freewheeling” in the Oval Office to impress foreign officials.

“He doesn’t really know any boundaries. He doesn’t think in those terms,” an adviser said. “He doesn’t sometimes realize the implications of what he’s saying. I don’t think it was his intention in any way to share any classified information. He wouldn’t want to do that.”

White House officials also asked the Post to not print sensitive information despite denying that information was ever leaked.

“With news like this I’m beginning to wonder why Trump ran in the first place and if he really cares about the country. I miss candidate Trump. Now he’s just a pathetic mess,” said another staffer.
