Trump Just Got Caught Altering TIME Magazine Cover

Donald Trump, who has repeatedly accused the media of creating “fake news” stories, has been discovered to have planted some fake news of his own at some of his golf clubs in America and Europe.

At least four of Trump’s golf clubs contain an issue of Time magazine depicting Trump on the cover with the headline reading “Donald Trump: The ‘Apprentice’ is a television smash!”. The fake issue of the magazine is date March 1, 2009, which concurs with the premiere of his show “The Celebrity Apprentice”.

The Washington Post reports that Time Magazine spokeswoman Kerri Chyka confirmed that the issue was not authentic via email. “I can confirm that this is not a real TIME cover,” wrote Chyka.

The fake issues have been displayed at two locations in America, as well as in Scotland and also Ireland, although reports indicate that the issue in Scotland had been removed a few weeks ago for undisclosed reasons. Trump previously over-exaggerated the number of times he’d appeared on the cover of Time at a press conference last year, indicating he believed the cover to be legitimate.

“I think I was on the cover of Time magazine twice in my life and like six times in the last number of months,” Trump said last July. Trump was only featured on one Time cover before entering politics, in January 1989.
