An SNL star made an awkward joke about Hillary Clinton. Chelsea’s response is classy.

At a recent women’s event in New York City, a Saturday Night Live cast member’s awkwardly timed joke about Hillary Clinton was met with class.

Vanessa Bayer, who emceeing Variety magazine’s Power of Women lunch event, made the joke while introducing the six speakers who would be addressing the audience. According to the Washington Post, Actor Jessica Chastain was there with former first daughter Chelsea Clinton, along with Blake Lively, Gayle King, Audra McDonald, Tina Knowles, and Shari Redstone.

“They all have one thing in common,” Bayer said. “None of their moms are president.”

For her part, Clinton was there to speak on her efforts fighting childhood obesity, as a member of the Alliance for a Healthy Generation. The Post also reported that while she refrained from talking politics, Clinton did give her mother and grandmother a nod for teaching her about the value of persisting amid opposition. However, near the end of her remarks, Chelsea had a classy responser to Bayer’s groaner.

“Vanessa, we may be able to say in this room today that no one’s mother is currently president,” Clinton said to the emcee. “But someday, someone’s will be.”
