Spring breaking Trump supporters just showed that perhaps Mexicans should be walling off Americans, instead of the other way around.
Newlywed honeymooners Sully and Anaximandro Amable were trying to enjoy entertainment provided by their Cancun cruise last week, when a “flock of Americans” started to riotously chant “Build that wall! Build that wall!”
Mr. Amable wrote on Facebook:
Today I was with Suly, my wife (who is a native of Mexico), watching an entertainment show off the coast of Cancun aboard a boat, and at the end of the show, a flock of Americans (maybe under the influence of alcohol, or maybe not), began to sing the infamous “Build that wall” chant louder and louder [translation by Yucatan Times]
Several offended Mexican passengers complained, but the American partiers refused to stop.
The irony of demanding that a wall be constructed to protect America while currently enjoying Mexican culture – it nearly goes without saying – was completely lost on these people.
Amalbe encouraged Latin Americans to stand up for their Mexican brothers and sisters, saying “Never again let them laugh in our face, let alone in our own house. Because that is not tolerance… we, Latin Americans, were not raised to be the nice dog of anybody or to continue supporting any boot. Long live Latin America together!”
But then again, perhaps this was more than just yet another example of racist idiocy coming from belligerent Trump supporters. Perhaps this was a strategic move from Trump himself.
What better way to convince Mexico to pay for the wall than to force them to have to deal with Trump supporters?
