Lawyer of doctor dragged off flight just gave United some really bad news

The doctor who was recently dragged off of a United Airlines flight suffered serious injuries as a result of the violent confrontation.

To Demetrio, the attorneys for Dr. David Dao, 69, held a press conference on Thursday, telling the media that his client suffered a broken nose, lost teeth, and a concussion from the viral incident in which United Airlines flight crew members called police to forcefully remove Dao from his seat in order to accommodate a United staff member.

Dr. Dao went viral earlier this week when a video of him refusing to give up his seat on an overbooked flight circulated on social media. In the video, Dao is heard screaming as Chicago Airport Police officers drag him out of his seat and down the aisle of the plane. He briefly re-boarded the plane, where passengers recorded video of him telling flight crew members “just kill me” with a bloodied face.

Demetrio is a high-powered attorney who caught the attention of New York Magazine contributor Yashar Ali, who tweeted that United Airlines “is in for a rough ride.”

“The family of Dr. Dao wants the world to know that they are very appreciative of the outpouring of prayers, concern and support they have received. Currently, they are focused only on Dr. Dao’s medical care and treatment,” said attorney Stephen Golan, of the Chicago-based firm Golan Christie Taglia.

As of this writing, attorneys for Dao have not yet divulged any details about a potential lawsuit or the amount of damages they’re seeking, only that they’re primarily focused on Dao’s recovery. Dao is currently being treated for his injuries at a Chicago hospital.
